Help baby to get back to sitting from crawling - all advice the other way round!

Exactly as the title says really. My 11 month old crawls & cruises amazingly, stands on his own for approx 5-10 seconds before wobbling over, so he’s great in that aspect

However as soon as he is on all 4’s, he gets stuck! He can’t get back into a seated position or onto his knees to just sit & hold a toy if you know what i mean. He can pull himself up onto furniture from all 4’s

Everything i’ve googled gives advice on how to go from sitting to crawling, but not the other way round! Anybody elses baby struggled with this?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as he gets himself into a bit of a tizzy when he crawls to a toy and then just wants to sit to chew on it but he can’t!

thank you :) x

Does he see other babies much? That's the only thing I can suggest. Mine took quite a while to figure it out too but they just figure it out once and then don't look back!

Chill out. Babies do everything at their own pace and sometimes they “forget” things they’ve done before.
My 3yo never crawled for example. She sat when seated, bum shuffled and then walked. It’s fine.

Hold his arms and help him rock back and forwards so he gets uses to shifting his weight. He'll get it pretty soon, don't worry!
Some babies do things in unusual orders. My DD did lots of her milestones backwards. She could walk at 11 months but couldn't get to sitting or get up to get feet. Drove her mad as she'd get stuck of she couldn't reach something to pull up on!
