Child always unwell

My 7 Yr old was given a tentative diagnosis of cyclic vomiting syndrome as was having episodes of being sick every few months. It has now changed to 2/3 times a week and GP doesn’t really want to see him and keeps saying wait for consultant appt end of this month. More recently he hasn’t actually vomited but just starts yawning intensely then says he feels hot but isn’t actually and has to go to bed. Usually around 5pm every time. He will then usually fall asleep after getting a bit distressed about the hot feeling. Assume it’s possibly a nausea feeling but he can only describe feeling hot. He is also very restless when asleep so think still feels unwell even though he’s sleeping. I am really questioning the diagnosis but docs don’t want to see him as they feel he just has cyclic vomiting and it is what it is etc. just wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and any other conditions that would mimic this? I am worried something js being missed and 3 weeks to see consultant feels a lifetime at the moment.
