Recommendations for baby carriers / slings

We have 2 month old twins and are thinking about buying some baby slings / carriers. We were thinking one each rather than a twin carrier. My husband is 6’3 and lm 5’7, our backs have been playing us up since they were born so we need some especially back friendly ones. What does everyone recommend?

I'm short and my husband is tall and we both get on fine with the Ergobaby Omni Breeze. Easy to adjust between us and no back problems, not that we are prone to those anyway.

Best thing you could do is try different carriers though at a sling library

Ah just seen the age of your twins. Wraps would still be good for little babies. At that age we used a Marsupi carrier, again fine for both of us, since we didn't like the clinginess of wraps.

Ergo embrace. Suits newborn to 18 months best so ideal for small babies. Soft but buckles for ease. Less bulky that the thick padded ergo options. Roll up small to go in bottom of pram also

I so wanted to get on with the Ergobaby Embrace but we found that the straps to tighten it forces our baby's back/spine out of the important rounded shape and made it arch a bit.

It's a nice carrier though, just didn't work for us. Hence why it's important to test different ones! 😊

@Regenbogen22 - on the embrace? It only has two soft straps that can only be made shorter at the clip at the side once clipped on. There is no clips to tighten it around baby?

Ergo baby 360 mesh. It’s the best baby item I bought! Number one still using it at 26 months and has been in it since newborn. Just got the Embrace for newborn number two as she is smaller and also number one not ready to share his carrier yet. It’s nice for a little one but, at two months, I think I’d go straight to the 360. We are 5 ‘11 and 6’2 and both find it comfy - we’ve barely used the pram.

Ergo baby omni 360. I have worn lots of carriers, this is by far the best. It's supportive for both parent and baby.

@Caspianberg yeah, I just seemed to need to tighten it and it ultimately pulled in his back a bit much, due to where the straps attach. Super nice, soft carrier though!

I have a Mamaruga Zensling which is super comfy and so easy to use - soft like a stretchy wrap but with buckles so easy to put on. I've also borrowed a mesh Beco Gemini from a sling library for summer and it's great, very lightweight and the really thick waist strap really helps take the weight off your shoulders and back

Ergobaby 360 omni. 4 carrying positions and good from newborn to 20kg.

My husband’s back wouldn’t be the best and he carried our 10kg toddler on his back on a 10km hike the other day with ease and said it was very comfortable. I’ve used it a lot when she was younger and found it easy to adjust, put on and comfortable to wear.

For when they're bigger the Twingo is always popular - can use it as a double or as two singles so you have both options

Thanks for these. We are going to dip our toes in with a Ergobaby
