Help confused re: child benefit

So my husband claims for dc1, but when I applied for dc2 I thought it was me that was claiming so filled in the form like that.

We’re now getting two separate payments into the same bank account, same amount for second child as first - have I done something wrong?? I filled in all husbands details in the application so they know we have another.

Don’t want to get done if we’ve accidentally got more than we should.

help!

Yes your second child should be a lower amount.
You need to contact them asap or you might find who have to pay £££ back later on.

you have to pay back. Not who !

@Lolarosemama It is best to have child benefit claim in the mothers name as each year you claim for a child under 12 you automatically receive class 3 national insurance credits. This equates to one qualifying year for state pension purposes.
