Big wobble on No.2

Recently my DP and I made the decision to try for baby number 2 when DD (11 months) turns 1. I'm 40, and it took us a year and several losses to conceive DD, so there's not much time to hang about if we're going to do it.

We do want a second child but just had a big dose of reality in the form of a hideous stomach bug. DD sick first, bless her, then DP, then me. It took two days for symptoms to show for me & DP so we thought we'd escaped and then carnage! Such a (literally) shitty bank holiday. Both our families are 4+hrs away, so it was just luck that DP and I didn't get sick at the exact same time because we have no (free) help. Poor DP had to care for DD alone when he was just recovering because at that point I was useless. It was fairly short-lived, thank god, but I kept thinking, what if we had a newborn to care for too? It's really rocked me. 🙁🙄

I guess I'm just a big wimp looking for positive stories of how people manage two small kids with stuff like this!

Four hours is harsh. We had the DILS close but DMIL was so afraid of vomiting that she shouted at DFIL if he left us Calpol outside the door if we were all ill so maybe distance isn't an issue.

It's never easy when you're all poorly but I think it's happened twice for us in 20 years and it was very short lived.

I wouldn't let one stomach upset put you off Flowers
