Can chicken pox be VERY mild?

My little boy is 11 months and has been a little unsettled the last few days - this morning he has a few little spots on his face and a few on his tummy and back. They’re light and don’t seem to be bothering him but he’s been just not quite himself. Spots fade under pressure, he’s eating and drinking well , a little warm but no temp so I’m not really worried. Just wondering if could it be chicken pox with only a few spots? Or will it get worse?

Chicken pox did the rounds of dc1 nursery when I was expecting dc2. Was a bit worried as I hadn't had it (according to my mum and my memory of childhood) so asked GP for advice. They did a blood test and me I was immune and must have had it.

Since then I have had 3 DC with chicken pox at three separate times and not caught it.

No one in my family has any recollection of my having it but presumably I did when my older sisters had it but with zero spots or symptoms...

My DS had chickenpox and had about 3 spots. My DD had it and was riddled!

My son had 5 spots and sat around eating sweets and playing on the Xbox.

Meanwhile my daughter had spots everywhere and was very poorly.

Yes, DS4 had 10 spots!

Apparently about 10% of cases don’t really have any symptoms, which is one of the reasons why under 16s shouldn’t take aspirin, as they could have asymptomatic CP and get the rare syndrome associated with aspirin and CP.

Yes. My little brother had about 3 spots and that was it.

Meanwhile I was covered head to toe, and have a face full of dimples from the scarring.

I'm still bitter about that 30 years on 😂

Well it’s certainly chickenpox - ramped up pretty quickly from a few spots on the face to being covered in them! Very itchy boy and very tired parents….

Two of my kids were covered in spots and felt clearly unwell but my third had three spots and was her usual self 🤷‍♀️
