Which swim nappies do you use on holiday?

Just wondering which swim nappies to take on holiday for an 11 month old? I have both the Huggies Little Swimmers disposable ones and a Happy Nappy resusable one. Holiday is a mix of beach and pool but not sure if the water will be warm enough for her to swim much. When we go to swim class here we mostly use the disposable ones but I put a Happy Nappy on too if she hasn't done a poo for awhile (the pool we do to only requires the disposable ones).

Do you use 2 layers on holiday too or is the reusable one good enough? The pools are just a small pool in an apartment complex or hotel and I'm sure we wouldn't be popular with the hotel owners or other guests if there was an accident in the pool! I guess for the beach just the reusable one is fine? How do you avoid going through lots of the disposable ones if they just go in the pool for a short time? Likewise with the resuable - they are hard to put on wet so do you dry it completely between swims? Sorry if these are dumb questions!

I'd always double nappy them. The paper ones just hold in poos (not brilliantly sometimes!) so the wee still gets into the water. The neoprene happy nappies also have SPF.

I used to take 3 reusable nappies because they won’t poo out in public. If they would they I would disposables.

Thanks for the advice! Guess we will take both. She hasn’t pooped in the pool yet but has just recently started pooping in the bath which does make me a bit worried! How many disposables would you take for ~12 days with pool access? We already have too much luggage and I don’t think disposable swim nappies are easy to buy where we are going (not on the website of the main supermarket).

I mean you could reuse a disposable a few times if she’s doing lots of dips in the pool. They don’t “hold” any wee, so it’s just wet with water when it comes out of the pool. Just squeeze it out and let it dry in the sun.

I’d use a happy nappy as well at all times in the pool.

I used to reuse the disposables until they fell apart - not if pooped in obviously. If they looked reasonably clean I would rinse in the shower and dry in the sun. Would only need about 4 for a two week holiday that way. I would always 'double' with a happy nappy though.

We always used reusable swim nappies. You can get ones that extend down the leg to provide a good coverage like the splash about reusable

Do you need a disposable under than one @Caspianberg? Or can it be used alone?

Caspianberg · 30/05/2023 05:26

@WutheringShites86 - it’s worn alone.

Caspianberg · 30/05/2023 05:31

@WutheringShites86 - we used it a lot as well. As live where it’s hot so Ds wore swim nappy most days all summer.

You can reuse Little Swinmers unless they poo in them... we had a pool in our garden when we lived in the Mediterranean and a packet lasted a while.

Thanks @Caspianberg, that sounds like just what I'm looking for!
