Hi
I was after some advice from some fellow parents! My LO was scratched at nursery quite badly 3 weeks ago.
I kept the scab moist and it healed that part quickly I am now so worried about scarring.
I am applying sun cream but do you think this would scar permanently?
Pic of when it happened vs now

I think it’s really difficult to say. My DC has had scratches that looked that deep and haven’t scared, but has one on his face that didn’t look as bad at the time and has scared.

I would be applying bio oil or similar

That is really deep 😲
Yes to bio oil - I’m sure it will fade.
How was that dealt with at nursery?

My scars heal like this. I have keloid scarring, any stitches ect keloid quite severely but any scratches that are quite deep they keloid - not severely just slightly. Hopefully this won't be the case for your LO, it's probably just because it's so deep (quite shocking tbh!!)

I would apply bio oil regularly and keep using sun cream when you go outside. What happened at nursery? that's a very deep scratch Sad

I know :( I removed him from nursery for a while but after several meetings he has gone back (on the days this child is not there)
Apparently this child had a problem with biting and this was a first time incident of scratching and happened very quickly according to the nursery.
upsets me everyday when I look at his face
This isn’t even all of it it was on the other side of his face too but lighter and still left marks 💔💔💔💔
