Normal behaviour or lazy child?!

My nearly 4 year old won’t even try a scooter or a bike, is generally ok at walking but does have a buggy board on his baby siblings buggy. We’ve just come back from holiday and the entire two weeks was full of arguments over walking. Constantly saying his legs were tired and asking to be carried, we had many stand offs where we just wouldn’t go anywhere for ages or at all because he wouldn’t walk and we wouldn’t carry, he spent a lot of time on his dads shoulders as it was the only way we could get out and about most days. Is this a bit abnormal for his age? I see other kids younger than him on scooters and bikes and running around way more. He’s not overweight at all and when he wants to is more than capable. Is he lazy? Or is this within normal behaviour? I feel like I’m raising a lazy child and it must be my fault?

I don't think he's lazy. Some kids are just not in to that sort of thing. My son is 10, still can't ride a bike (we've tried!), has no interest in going on a scooter or anything. It's just not his thing. He likes other sports though such as football, tennis etc.

I think within realms of normal. Main hated walking at that age, but if it was somewhere exciting like a theme park or zoo would walk for hours, also fine tearing around a playground. But boring streets and she wanted to ride the buggy board everywhere. She would scoot - one with rainbow tassle handlebars and light up wheels got her interested but still point blank refuses to ride a bike and she’s nearly 6 so probably should try pushing that a bit more. A summer holiday project perhaps. She got better with the walking atvaround 5 thankfully but will still try to climb in the stroller when her toddler sibling is walking. Yet wins everything at sports day. IDK I think it’s a boredom thing.
