Am I alone? Is this normal?
8yo DD is NT (well afaik), has a loving family, nice village primary, small circle of good friends, sees loving grandparents regularly.
There is, like, nothing bad in her life.
But she is so difficult! Sometimes she can be poised and grown up, and sometimes she does annoying stuff but you can see it's well-intentioned.
But about 50% of the time she is just obstructive for no reason. Take school run today. Annoyed with her brother so said she wasn't going to wear her seatbelt. We were already risking being late. Calmed that one down, got to school. Wouldn't let her sister out "her" door, no reason. Then refused to put sun cream on as per her teacher's request.
It's just constant low level "why?" and "but I AM" and "nooo I want to do it myself / a different way/ not do it".
It is exhausting!!! It is like a combination of a 3yo and teen. Anyone else?
