Hi,
I'm really really freaking out, my anxiety is through the roof, and I'm really scared and worried.

On Saturday my 1year old nearly 2 next month, was playing in the garden, I have decking at the bottom, she ran playing with her sister, fell over and hit her mouth on the edge of the decking (very sore) she cried, her lip swell up, and she a cut on her gum in her mouth. Gave her a cuddle, put a cold compress on it, and gave her calpol. After 5 minuets she was fine and back playing again.

I have stone floor in my kitchen (very hard) she was climbing on a chair in the kitchen right next to me, usually fine doing this. Somehow she climbed on one side and managed to fall off the other side and again hit her mouth on my floor in the same place, she cried I gave her a cuddle made sure she was okay. And again after 5 minuets back to eating and her normal self.

Yesterday my son had his friend over, my partner and his mum were also here. I popped to the shop when I come back, I found out she had hit her mouth on my sons friends leg. Again cried for not very long at all, but all okay.

My partner decided to call 111 to check she would be okay. Spoke to the operator, he got the doctor to call, told us nothing to worry about all okay, because she was alright in herself.

Today, was picking my other children from school. Get a phone call from a social worker! The 111 operator had decided to pass the call over to social services as he feared for her safety!!

Social worker turns up, does what she needs to do. Within this time, my daughter has falled over multiple times, and again bumper her mouth on a soft storage unit. She was okay. The lady was lovely, had a giggle about her falling over, said typical toddler.
Now I have to wait 5 days to hear whether the case will be closed or if they need more information

I'm.freaking out, feel sick.
Any advice at all on this happening to anyone else.

Thanks

The fall from the chair was on Monday.

Hi I'm sure the social worker visit was just a due diligence type thing i.e. the 111 operator was just following protocol regarding safeguarding etc. So I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.

On a different note, and I'm really sorry to add another worry, but I'd definitely advise to get her seen by a dentist- if she's hit her mouth twice in the same place and had soft tissue bleeding/swelling there's a chance she may have damaged her front teeth. Did you check for any chips or tooth mobility? Keep a look out for any signs of tooth discolouration as well.

Oh bless you. Toddlers fall. You were able to give a proper account of how her injuries occurred so I suspect you'll be marked as 'no further action '. Same as when my ds ran into a wall and banged his head (hospital told us they were duty bound to refer).
At the risk of stressing you further though, she may end up with weak teeth. I bumped my front top gum a couple of times as a child (running into a window sill is one I remember nearly 50 years later!) and my front 2 teeth were very weak (crowns now).
i know it's easy to say but try not to worry Flowers
