My 3 yo is currently obsessed with AC/DC Thunderstruck asking for it on in the car, on the speaker (he means Alexa) and singing it whilst playing on his own. It’s from watching Disney Planes Fire and Rescue 😂 thankfully he only sings the intro and Disney were clever enough to add dialogue over most of the lyrics apart from the intro and chorus.
What “inappropriate” songs are your little ones fans of?

Ah bless him, great taste in music at school an early age.

My now 18 year old just rolls her eyes now when we sing “socks on fire” it must have come out then she was about 4. She also loved Flo-rida’s “low” and knew all the words which was hilarious but definitely inappropriate!

DowntonCrabby · 24/05/2023 09:39

*such, no idea where school came from.

pornyshroudofturin · 24/05/2023 09:48

Mine was asked to learn a song or nursery rhyme to perform in reception. Lots of lovely Twinkle Twinkle and Baa Baa Black Sheep.

Mine sant Guilty All The Same by Linkin Park. All six minutes of it. Complete with air guitar and drums. So proud...

This is great 😂 I hope the family joke lives on forever!
Although now I’m slightly horrified that came out 14 years ago 🫠

Dd at about 5, round at PILs house, 'Alexa, play Milkshake by Kelis' and proceeded to sing along.
We have a family Apple Music subscription and Ds aged about 11 at the time was listening to music upstairs on his phone. He was happily singing along to Paradise City by Guns n Roses and I thought 'ah, how cute'. A short time later I heard him sing the line 'turn around bitch, I've got a use for you' from It's So Easy. Cue an urgent conversation about misogyny in rock music Blush

Six minutes, very impressive and I’m sure it broke up the cute yet repetitive nursery rhymes!

‘The piano song, the piano song!’
aka Rammstein’s Mein Herz Brennt, the piano version.

I don’t let her listen to the more explicit ones 😬

One of mine sang enter sandman by Metallica at a talent thing in primary school when he was 10. Good lad. 😁

stormelf · 24/05/2023 10:04

My three year old loves the fire song aka sabaton "Sparta".

My five year old really liked slipknot "psychosocial" when she was about 2

DD’s school music show included a bunch of year 5s doing Enter Sandman! I was very impressed! Her group did ‘running up that hill’, it was a real mixed bag lol

dariane · 24/05/2023 10:05

Currently Snoop but we don't tend to filter music (apart from eldest's rap interesting choices) also Ebeneezer Goode and more recent one is Cake by the Ocean 🙈

Babyboomtastic · 24/05/2023 10:18

From the kids show 'Gabbys Dollhouse '.

The song 'there's a snacky in my packy'.

😬😳

StillEatingRipeBananas · 24/05/2023 10:22

Mine liked Firestarter by The Prodigy but luckily just one line from the chorus "I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter" turned that off sharpish.

Talent shows at school have been eye opening (as someone on the inside) we had a year 6 girl wanting to do Timewarp as Rocky Horror Show was here favourite movie. She was 10. Fortunately she didn't choose Sweet Transvestite. She was talked into doing something else. It is brilliant when children rock out to 70s or 80s classics though.

Useyourfork · 24/05/2023 10:38

Dire Straits ‘money for nothing- chips for tea’ 😀

NanooCov · 24/05/2023 11:45

Why would it be inappropriate? My kids both love that song and have since they're toddlers.

takealettermsjones · 24/05/2023 13:26

My DD and DH returned home once when I had a Cardi B playlist on... I turned it off immediately, obviously, but it led to her saying "a horse in the house!" and laughing her head off. Oops 🤣 (she has long since forgotten about it though!)

Thesunwillcomeoutverysoon · 24/05/2023 13:29

There is a recent one called Bitch Lasagne.. Ds's favourite.. He is 8 .

Dandelioncl0ck · 24/05/2023 15:50

My 5 month old's also an ACDC fan! Highway to Hell has been the best way to calm them down since very early on

mumonthehill · 24/05/2023 15:55

My best friend taught me a song when i was 4 that started eh bye gum touch your belly touch your bum, do your tits hang low, can you tie them in a bow. I sang it to my dear grandma, my dm was mortified.

LittleLegsKeepGoing · 24/05/2023 16:14

The song that mortified us when DD sang it was off the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

"Shake, shake, shake your peanut"

Yep, peanut came out exactly as you'd imagine from a 2 year old's mouth.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/05/2023 18:03

DS, now 14, used to sign "ooh sixty ladies" (oooh sexy lady).

Many years ago I went on holiday with my brother and his family. 7 year old DNeph wandered around the French campsite all week singing "Gay bar, gay bar, I'm going to a gay bar..." all week.

buckleten · 24/05/2023 18:25

Hamilton songs with the swearing!

Look up ‘Rewiggled’ by the wiggles,
it’s got lots of covers including thunderstruck. We listen to it at my day care centre.

Blessedbethefruitz · 25/05/2023 22:35

My 4 yo likes anything with a dance beat. He is a big bloodhound gang fan... Particularly foxtrot uniform Charlie kilo and the funny banana car... I left youtube on autoplay last week and was doubly screwed when he asked what they do on the discovery channel. And then it switched to die Antwood, I fink you freaky - I caught it before the chorus...
