Guilt!!!!!

My 4 year old son has been being a live wire today and by that I mean feral. Kicking screaming, the works for basically no reason.
Tha being said, as he was just repeatedly kicking me in the side I lifted him to move him and caught his skin leaving an almost instant bruiseit's smaller than a 5p but I'm genuinely upset, Ive never hurt my kids and I feel so bad about it.
I'm also now catastrophising that pre school will be having me arrested and carted off but I feel terrible about it.
This is just my venting post that I've caused him pain albeit without meaning to.

This may sound like a non event but I've just said to my kids no matter what it's a parents job to keep them safe, not be the cause of distress. He's all fine and dandy now but I feel so shit about it.

Hoping the lack of any response or reaction is due to this not being a world stopping event and that maybe I'm overreacting.

You have no reason to feel guilty. I know as a mom you instantly do. You didn't intentionally do it and as long as he's fine don't worry about it :)

Also if it's a one time thing they won't think nothing of it. Kids get bruises loads from falling etc so they won't think he's being harmed.

I may have overreacted and cried, single parent feeling guilty every day for that, doesn't take much to set me off feeling bad

I think because they've been let down so badly by one parent I magnify anything less than perfect from my end.
I feel a bit shitty still tbh but I realise it's not that dramatic in reality
