Different between a crib and My bed??

This might be a dumb question but I am very unwell so I'm probably thinking unclearly lol. Anyway my baby has a crib. Picture attached so you know what type. It's temporary until we move and we will get a cot/cot bed. Sometimes baby fusses so much such as last night and even with dummy, feeding and teething medications he doesnt sleep just cries. Tried giving comforter and breathable blanket. I picked him up and put him in my bed. Now when I do this I don't cuddle him or touch I put him on the side ( with a guard) and he literally knocks out. It's not the mattress as this works regardless on what bed I've on ( tested on 4 different) and he does sleep in crib so it's not uncomfortable. I just don't understand the difference. Like I said I don't cuddle with him or put my hand on him I leave a huge gap between us so I'm not that close either ( dw it's still safe) I want to get a temporary co sleeping crib but I don't know what to do. Normally they like the bed because of the closeness to mama which is why I'm confused because he pushes his head to the other side and knocks out. If you're going through this how long does it last and also when did your LO start putting dummy in his mouth? Sorry this is alot but thankyou in advance x

Your bed is warm and smells of you.

Just get one of those bedside cribs

@Pinkflipflop85 warm yes I agree with that but today I've slept in a brand new bed as I'm staying at my mums and it doesn't have my scent on.

Hi OP
I have a co-sleeping crib and my baby is the same as this. Some nights he will not settle at all in the co sleeping crib but will sleep like an angel in my bed and it's inches away from where he was.

No idea why it makes such a difference!

It's a shame that I can't sleep if he's in my bed, I just can't seem to relax!
