Chicken pox

Is it possible for chicken pox to start in the genital area? My little girl is 18 months and chicken pox is going around our area at the moment. She’s got about 10 blister like spots in her nappy area? None anywhere else at the moment? When my other kids had it they started on stomachs and back? Just wondering if this is possible or maybe it’s something else like hand foot and mouth? Thanks

Yes when one of my kids got chickenpox at 10 months old it started in their nappy area and then spread all over.

My 2.5yo had awwwwful chicken pox on genitals and around anus - it was their worst region for CP spots!!

How long after the spots in the genitals did the spots come out other places??

Could be - hand foot and mouth.
My dd started in the nappy area with that.

She had hand foot and mouth in March? Can she get it again?

They can have hand foot and mouth multiple times! There are loads of strains. If no spots on her trunk by bathtime I reckon h,f&m more likely.

Thanks for the replies. She’s in the bath at the moment and has a rash on the bottom of her legs. Maybe it is hand foot and mouth? I suppose il have to wait and see what comes of it. Xx
