Refusing nap when I am putting him down

Basically that.

My 18m old absolutely refusing nap time when I am trying to put him down. If my partner or anyone else puts him down he’s asleep within a minute. If I am trying to put him down he will cry and scream in his cot for ages until I come back upstairs.

I am on my last tether, we have a 2 week old at home and it’s my partners first day back at work after paternity. Feel like a failure as I can’t put my own child to sleep.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Yep. Double buggy was the only way I'm afraid to say. Had to get them both out and trick toddler into sleeping.

Snuggle on the sofa and watch a film with them instead, don't stress yourself about it. You have a 2 week old. It's ok for things to be up in the air at the moment with routine for the toddler and things will soon change again.
