My toddler was playing by the window and I was in the same room facing the other way in the kitchen he suddenly started coughing (he does have a dry cough for a few days which comes on when he’s sleeping) I turned around and went to him asked him if he put something in his mouth and he said no. I gave him water and he was okay he then drank some milk but now he’s pointing to his throat saying it’s hurting. I am just getting paranoid whether he swallowed something? His toys were there and normally he doesn’t put things in his mouth I checked the area and didn’t find anything he could put in his mouth should I be worried?

I have anxiety so I do tend to overthink 😩

If he says it’s hurting he may just be describing a sore throat.
If he’s started with a cough and now his throat is sore it’s probably just a virus, maybe see if calpol eases it for him.
