Nursery or childminder ?

Baby will be 1 year when I return to work in July

My sister will be having her one day and my MIL was supposed to be having her the other 2 but now can't so now trying to find cover

Visited one CM who I felt didn't really feel 100% on. It's all new for us so maybe this is normal so please tell me if it is?

The lady said she has 12 children maximum but it's different each day. Two out of the 3 children ( 1 yr old and 22 month old ) were crying on arrival, and whilst there about half an hour one was asking for mummy/daddy the whole time
Seemed chaotic and couldn't put finger on why we didn't feel 100% although the CM seemed lovely.

We live in a small village so not a large choice of nurseries

Contemplating not going back if we can't find something suitable

Didn't think we would be using nursery or cm until next year but just trying to get my head around if

Any views or advice would be fab x

One thing to remember with a childminder is that they can take leave when they want which means you'll have to find child care for those days/weeks. That's one of the reasons I choose a nursery. The only week they are closed is in-between christmas and new year.

That's fine my work is super flexible so I'm really lucky there

Definitely go and see more than one childminder.

This is also why I do parent meetings on my day off. The children can get really unsettled with a stranger here and my attention has to be split between answering questions and doing out normal routine.
