Do you clean your babys toys? If so how often?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No, never.

I clean them if they got dropped somewhere especially dirty like a public bathroom floor but otherwise don’t bother. I used to clean the hard toys (teethers etc) once a day in hot soapy water up until 4 months or so (we have a cat that goes everywhere and I’m pretty crap at cleaning the floor generally).

Qbish · 09/05/2023 17:33

Not really.

Saffronn · 09/05/2023 17:34

Only if they actually look grubby.

Simonjt · 09/05/2023 17:36

No, she licks the floor, so there isn’t any point unless its a soft toy thats got food etc on it.

I used to put my DS's Duplo in the dishwasher. He played with it on the floor but used to put it in his mouth.

Skyeheather · 09/05/2023 17:47

Yes - when I'm ready to sell them on FB marketplace, I give them a good clean before they are collected!

CoalCraft · 09/05/2023 18:02

I wipe them down if they look visibly dirty, smell or if something unpleasant gets on them (i.e. they've been sicked/snotted on). Teddies get chucked in the wash for the same reason.

Thank you all, I wasn't sure, my baby is 6 months old. This was referring to toys in the house. Obvs if I was out and about and it dropped onto a dirty floor I'd clean it.

Once they are sitting up in the big bath you can chuck them in there with them every now and again, they get played with and swooshed about a bit , then leave them to drain in there while you are doing bedtime , that’s what I used to do.
