Starting a new job soon after maternity leave?

I’m looking to change jobs as soon as possible for various reasons but was just wondering if shortly after maternity leave is a terrible time to be applying for jobs? I will return to work in my current job for 3 month’s minimum to qualify for my enhanced maternity pay which will take me to Oct. If I was lucky enough to find another job I would be starting during my daughters first winter at nursery which I’ve heard can be pretty terrible for illness (both for her and me) resulting in lots of time off work. Would this be a terrible time to start a new job when I’d want to make a good impression?

Depends on your set up. My husband works full time and has a more flexible job with more leave so he tends to take the hit in terms of days off when she's ill as I only work 3 days x
