Please help me improve DC's diet!

Hi, I'd love any advice and tips on how to improve DC's diet.

For background, DC is 15 months old, no allergies anymore (completed milk ladder) and is sitting around the 50th-60th centile for height and weight. Their current dislikes include anything identifiably green and leafy, any sandwich other than cheese, and lemon flavoured things.

Here's an idea of what they ate last week...

Monday - Porridge with strawberries and raspberries. Hummus and sliced peppers. Rice cake. Veggie moussaka. Small piece of low sugar sponge cake. Drank water and milk (still BF'ing).

Tuesday - Apple and cinnamon oats. Veggie straws (kind of like crisps but made of different veg). 'Baby pizza' (homemade, flatbread with tomato sauce hiding veg and low fat cheese). Lamb and vegetable curry. Drank water and milk.

Wednesday - No breakfast. Rice cake. 5 bean chilli with rice. Veg lasagne. Peas. Drank water and milk.

Thursday - Porridge with banana. Strawberry fruit bake biscuit thing. Tomato soup. Apple. Chicken and veg curry. Drank water and milk. Also drank some Fruit Shoot (I know, I'm a terrible mother).

Friday - No breakfast. Veg Bolognese with pasta. Sweetcorn. Chicken and veg curry. Drank water and milk.

Saturday - Strawberry yoghurt. Baked salmon with broccoli and potato. Small homemade 'brownie' treat (low sugar equivalent, not an actual brownie!). Panzanella salad. Drank water and milk.

Sunday - Apple and cinnamon oats. Cheese sandwich. Thai green veg curry. Drank water and milk.

I kind of feel like their breakfasts are very same-y, and it'd be great to get some ideas for persuading them to eat green things!

Your breakfasts are all oats. Different breakfast ideas would be anything egg based or anything toast based

  • boiled egg and soldiers
  • scrambled egg and mushrooms or tomatoes
  • omelets
  • poached egg and soldiers
  • peanut butter on toast
  • avo toast
  • cream cheese on toast

Also sweet breakfasts

  • pancakes
  • banana pancakes
  • French toast

Avo toast! Hadn't thought of that. DC is going through a phase of hating eggs (those are the 'no breakfast' days), but they love avocado. Could totally stick that on toast!

I don't think you need to improve it at all or overthink it. Looks healthy and balanced to me! Only tip I've ever seen that I really approved of was to try to have identifiable vegetables on the plate as well as the hidden in stuff kind, even if you know they won't get eaten. Just gets them used to the idea that veggies come with every meal.

I would say better than my 13m DS but he would live on blueberries if I let him and eats a lot fruit through out the day, only green thing he eats is peas though and I’m not overly worried
