Hiya, so my 11 week old has his jabs 4 days ago his first lot of jabs. . He still is having diarreah, it’s tan coloured sorry for the tmi.
it’s bank holiday so my gp aren’t open today, he is acting normally, drinking his bottles etc smiling etc but he is having diarrhoea… it’s been a lot more noticeable for past week but to think about it I don’t think he has ever had a proper soils stool, I am really worried, anyone else had similar?

just curious…. Thank you 🙏

Just to add he is producing wet nappies and drinking normally… no dehydration showing just the diarrhoea bothering me…

You can Google baby poo pics and se what is normal. Babies don't really do solid poo. Well, mine don't anyway. Not until they are eating solid food.

A mushy texture is completely normal for a newborn, however if it is in any way liquidy and/or contains mucous then there could be some CMPA at hand (it's prevalence is thought to be up to 50% in some degree or another). Have a really good look at the next dirty nappy, see whether the stool moves around the nappy if you tilt it (think spreading hot oil around a pan) and whether there are any stringy jelly like bits in. If so then make an appointment with the GP, but so long as he remains well in himself as you describe, it's not an emergency.

They don't have solid poo's until they're much older.

When my newborn DD had solid poo (she couldn't even get it out) I knew that was not right and took her to the GP she was in a lot of pain and discomfort.

Also if your baby has their jabs they would've had the rotavirus vaccine which can give them an upset stomach for a while.

Totally normal for small babies to have mushy/wet stools. That's how they should be.
Like you are already doing just look out for signs of dehydration.

If you're concerned go to your GP.

Just had my DD's first set of jabs and they said the only type of poo they'd be worried about is one that looks like redcurrant jelly. DD's poos have been very liquidy since she had her jabs last week but it's within the realms of normal - they are on a liquid diet after all

Sounds completely normal, when DD was 2.5 years she got a really bad stomach bug and only took in breast milk for a week and her stools returned to that of a small baby, they have very liquid stools as they are on a liquid diet.

My DD had liquid poos right up until she went on solids. Baby diarrhoea if I'm right is the consistency of water, not just liquidy. I would have a look at pictures of baby stools online, it will give you a better idea.
Also the jabs will give them a funny tummy, the rotavirus vaccine can give them loose stools for a week or so.

Diarrhoea doesn't have to be water consistency, runny stool can also be diarrhoea.
