15 week old teething ADVICE PLEASE

My little one gas been excessively drooling, chewing his hands for the last two weeks.

However this week he's now got two red flushed cheeks, biting down on anything he can get his hands on, being almost impossible to settle waking up screaming, night time is pretty okay, but in the day barely any sleep anything from 30 mins to 45 mins so he gets cranky in the day.

I've brought pretty much every teething toy I can get my hands on, but I can't feel anything teeth wise in his mouth, I don't really know if the seem swollen (nothing to compare) am I missing something, how long roughly have people's babies been teething before anything showed?

I feel pretty useless for him, he doesn't want to be held, but when he's down he just cries and grunts, and calpol or the teething granules don't seem to be doing much?

Is it definitely teething OP? Has he got a temperature at all?

His health visitor seemed to think so, she was the one that was like oohh he's starting to teeth.

And temperature varies, his cheeks are hot to touch and he's had a slightly temperature, both usually helped with calpol

He won't even have his dummy.

If he's still the same on Tuesday I think I'd be tempted to ask the GP to check his throat and ears, just to rule out an infection Flowers

I shall, thank you.

Once he's had the calpol he seems fine and he's not grabbing his ears, that's why I never really thought about any ear infections.

You can get a teething gel that is stronger than bonjela

Ledeke1993 · 07/05/2023 13:26

I was looking but I can't even find the bonjela that's below 6 months, abusol is 5 months +

We're using the Ashton and parsons, but its a hit and a miss

Nowadays everything is blamed on teething. Fussy baby.. teething. Not sleeping well.. teething. Dribbling.. teething. You get the picture.. it's actually a myth that babies can be teething for months before any teeth cut through. The only time it truly causes them pain is when the tooth is cutting through. My little one started dribbling loads, putting everything in his mouth, chewing on everything at the same age as yours. It's normal behaviour, not necessarily teething. First tooth for us came through four months later. At 15 weeks it's unlikely that a tooth is coming through. I'd say if you've tried all the teething toys, calpol and teething granules with no relief for baby, it's safe to say he's not teething.
