Baby won’t burp after night feed

My baby girl currently only wakes for one feed during the night, and usually falls asleep while she’s drinking it. Once she’s finished her bottle I absolutely cannot get her to burp! She’s always so sleepy and floppy. I’ve tried lots of different burping positions (the ones which work during the day!) and can try for half an hour but she just doesn’t burp. The gas seems to come out of the other end fairly quickly though and she stays asleep.

Is this OK? I wonder if she doesn’t take in as much air while she’s feeding at night because she’s sleepy? It doesn’t seem to bother her apart from makes her quite farty.

It's fine if she's settling well.

I’ve had 3 children and never actively burped them. Burps just flew out if needed!

If it doesn’t bother her then what’s the issue?

My twins are 5 months and I don't burp them anymore.

My eldest DS never really burped but always farted!

As long as she is settled and comfortable, don't worry about it!

My DS is the same. Even during the day, it's very rare I get a burp. He is a farter all the way!!
Sometimes, after a feed, he seems so content and sleepy, but after a few minutes of lying flat he is bringing his knees up and clearly in a bit of discomfort. However, if I pick him up, he still won't burp! So I leave him to sort it out himself, and he farts his little life away in his crib.
I wouldn't worry about it 🙂

I do bicycle legs after night feeds with my youngest. Otherwise the gas gets stuck. But have found no need to burp this baby unlike my eldest who needed actively winding both ways after night feeds in order to settle. If baby is settling all is well.

I put them back in bed, wait 5 mins and lift them up again and sometimes a burp comes out. If they are settling though and not waking up uncomfortable with gas then I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't think I ever burped mine. Just sat him up and of it was needed it happened. Always fed and slept well, never any issues.

Why does she have too? Is there a problem with her?

Mine is usually like this, I love night feeds for this reason, little back pat and back to bed (as opposed to the first baby who we always burped for a min of 15 mins).

I think they just don't take as much air when sleepy and relaxed. Or it settles better.

It's a luxury m!
