What chores do you 7 year olds do?

Lays the table when asked. Puts his dirty clothes in the washing basket. If he bakes he does the washing up.

Puts clothes in laundry basket when she takes them off
Takes milk bottles out to front step
Helps lay the table.

We also play 'the chores game', my own invention of which I am very proud! Take a post it note out of the box and you have, say, 3 mins to do the task. Could be:

"Stair running" (putting things on stairs into correct location upstairs)
Pick up 5 of your baby brother's toys
Tidy shoe cupboard (child shoes only)
Help daddy take recycling out.

And we set a YouTube timer once a week or so to tidy the family room (bombsite).

God, what a slave driver I am! Oh well, 3 DC, both parents work, large-ish house, trying to raise future adults etc etc.

Loads and unloads dishwasher
Sets and clears table
Collects and sorts washing
Pegs, collects and folds clean clothes
Puts away their own clean clothes in drawer
Makes bed
Cleans shoes
Puts shopping away
Feeds cats and scoops cat litter
Peels veg

These are things they can do, they aren't all done regularly

@WineIsMyCarb I love the idea of stair running.

My 7 year old has just turned 7.

She does the usual tidying up after herself, dirty clothes in the correct section of the washing baskets away, folded clothes put away, scraps her plate and puts it and her glass next to the dishwasher, school bag emptied and filling glasses if water and putting them on the table at meal times (her younger sister sets the table). Oh she likes dusting too but it’s not her regular chore.

I’m thinking she needs to start learning to do more now she is 7.
