4 hour nap

Is a 4 hour nap too long for a one year old? My DS loves his sleep, but he's been napping for almost 4 hours. He has a cold at the moment, so I have just let him continue napping.

Enjoy! Mine does 2 days of nursery in a row on weds/Thurs so today he has a lovely looooong lunchtime nap. Long may it last. Consider putting him to bed half an hour later tonight and pray it kicks in a tiny lie in tomorrow!

He's 15/16 months ish

Does he usually nap for 4 hours, or just at the moment as he's unwell? I think that is a very long nap but all babies are different and have different sleep needs so if he wants to sleep that long and is still sleeping at night no problem I wouldn't wake him up

I am enjoying my coffee, haha! I'll wake him up soon for lunchtime. He is a good sleeper and has been from day one. Enjoy your rest this afternoon 😊

It can depend. He went to bed last night at 7.30 pm and woke this morning at 7 am. He does love his sleep, but I think this may be the longest he's napped. He has a little cold at the moment, so I'm guessing he's maybe just slept this long because he's feeling poorly.

My baby napped 5 hours the first time we went swimming 😂

as long as it’s not after 5pm I say long last the long naps woohoo

He's awake now ready for lunch 😆 I swear he's grown in that 4 hours.

Dd always woke up needing the next size clothes when she had an epic nap, it was so funny! Enjoy the rest x

Around that age my eldest slept 3 hours every afternoon, was bliss. Clearly unwell I wouldn’t wake, you will soon know the knock on effect

Probably fine. Mine sometimes does 3 or more. I just like to not let them nap too long incase it affect their night sleep, but if that's not an issue then I'm sure fine. Maybe they needed it
