Antibiotics while breastfeeding newborn - risk of thrush

I have a ten day old and started antibiotics (co-amoxiclav) 2 days ago for a perineal wound infection. I didn't want to take them but the wound got infected.

I'm concerned about my baby getting thrush. Did anyone take broad spectrum antibiotics while breastfeeding a baby this young and NOT get thrush?

Thanks

I got mastitis when DS was around six weeks old, was prescribed the same antibiotic. Absolutely no issues and DS didn't get thrush.

On the flip side, I didn't have antibiotics and baby did get thrush at 10 days old.

I wouldn't worry too much. The antibiotics are important for you, and if baby does get thrush for whatever reason it's easily treated.

Thanks both for your comments!! On day 4 of 7 and no adverse effects yet 🤞🤞
