Hi All,

my daughter had chicken pox almost 3 years ago but she had complications as the chicken pox went into her eye and nearly got blind.

so she was put on strong medications to stop the spreading therefore she had around 80-100 spots.

my son who was only 3 month at that time also cached it and it was mild on him also around 60-70 spots I guess.

today my girl came home that there was a boy in school with lots of spots on his face.

I emailed teacher who confirmed that the boy had chicken pox 1 week ago . ( I am assuming he still had cabs )

is it possible for them to have chicken pox again?

i am so nervous.

thank you.

Yes my DD had it twice, once when she was little and then again when she caught it off her brothers when she was older. But I’m sure you only get it again if it was really mild first time round.

Your DS may or may not get it again as it was mild first time round. I doubt your DD will get it again if she had it bad. My DDs was mild 2nd time round too, try not to worry.

I’m sure she probably only had about 20-30 spots, whereas my boys were smothered when they got it at a later date.

None of them were ill with it though.

I had it twice as a child - a mild dose the first time and a bad one the second time.

Emmamoo89 · 03/05/2023 20:06

Yes I had it 3 times

DS had it twice. First time very mild, just a few spots here and there. Was confirmed as chicken pox by a dr though.
second time it was awful. He was covered in spots. Dr said if the first time is very mild, then they can get it again. DD had it once pretty bad. She had it in class several times after that and never caught it again.
