Tall 2 year old

Hi all

I know comparing heights at the same age won’t do much because they are all so different but today we had our 2 year check with HV.
I, and basically everyone else, knows that our DS is a tall kid. Since he was born people sometimes would comment that he’s so tall and looks older than his actual age and I agree, he looks about the same height as some 3 -4 year old. For some reason I never measured his height, I guess I didn’t matter that much but today at his check she finally measured him - whole 100 cm! He’s off all the charts on his red book!
Oh and he will 27 months in 2 weeks.

What was the average height of your LO at around this age?
As for reference - I’m 5’9 and dad is 6’2

Bad luck OP, my 2yo is 101cm

At 2 my DD was 84cm… she’s a little dot in comparison to your boy!

My DS 23 months is 80cm, he's small. Then again in 5ft and DH is only 5ft 6" so he's bound to be a short arse 😂 don't worry about it op

At my son's 2 year check he was 82cm, he's now 90cm at almost 3.5yrs. my 5.5yr old daughter is 104cm. I'm only 153cm tall though so they were never going to be giants.

Kickingupmerrybehaviour · 03/05/2023 22:43

My daughter is 2 years and 5 months and measures 96 cm. Me and her dad are the same height as you two op.

I can checked tomorrow for you. Mine DCs are tall and were measured regularly at hospital.

With tall parents he is going to be tall and on their 2nd birthday are half their adult height. What size clothes is he in?

Just realised I put 23 months, he's 25 months**
He's a little bit
@Iminthemoneylife I never realised they're half their adult height at 2! 😮

can’t recall the exact measurements as my child is 2.5 now but when they scanned me they kept saying “oh she’s very long”- ok- I didn’t realise how long. I’m 5.6 her dad 6.1- not giants but she’s 99th percentile for height and 95th for weight- I call her my little giant!

PicturesOfLily · 04/05/2023 07:15

I can’t remember her exact height at 2 but dd would have been similar. Now at 5.7, she’s 133cm and a good head taller than the rest of the reception kids! I’m 5’11 and dh 6’1 so she was always likely to be tall. Dd2 isn’t quite so off the scale.

CoffeeandCakeNow · 04/05/2023 12:52

My now 10yo has always been much taller than his peers. As long as he's in proportion, I'm not worried about it.
At 2, he was 110 cm, at 4 he was 120cm, at 7 he was 140cm (he went on smiler at Alton Towers just before his 7th birthday 😄). He was 10 in November, has size 8 feet and is just over 160cm.
