Second Molars - oh wow 😳

DS has his top second molars cutting through. Wasn’t bothered much by any other teeth - red cheeks, drooling and the odd dose of Calpol/nurofen here or there but that was it. First molars caused a bit more trouble and he had an upset belly (lots of mucous filled dirty nappies) for a day or 2 when they were coming in. I had him check then as it was really unusual for his belly to be like that and was told it’s perfectly normal when they have teeth cutting.

Second molars seem to be causing a whole heap of issues 😔 He’s had an upset belly and terrible wind since Saturday. He’s waking every half hour rolling around groaning and passing gas 😔 he’s also waking coughing on all the excess saliva 😔 During the day he’s been doing anything from 5-8 dirty nappies a day. Again, mucousy and really smelly, and various colours! That’s now 4 full days of it.
At what point is it worth getting him checked incase it’s something else? Has anyones children had a really upset tummy with teeth cutting?

He seems to be ok in himself. Very uncomfortable and clearly not feeling his best when he keeps waking in the night but during the day he’s eating, drinking and playing as normal. Every so often he’ll tell me he’s got sore teeth and a few times a day he’s telling he he’s got a sore tummy when he poos. It’s usually accompanied by lots of gas 😔

Any tips and tricks for helping with the molars would be ideal! And any suggestions on what to do about the upset tummy would be much appreciated! Obviously I’m making sure he drinks plenty.

So glad I came across this! My little one is cutting his back molars now and it’s been awful! He’s been really moody, off his food and refused to go to bed tonight so I cuddled him to sleep and put him in bed.. anyway, he’s just woke up and keeps trumping loads but he’s done this before when he’s teething so I think it must be linked! How are you getting on now?

@Anne8888 Sorry, I’ve only just seen your post! I can’t lie, it’s been awful! 8/9days it took for the wind to calm down and the horrendous nappies to stop. Ended up at the GP getting him checked as he kept breaking out in huge patches of hives all over his body 😔 and then to top it all off, he got conjunctivitis 😬
Top molars - 1 about 2/3s of the way in. The other has just a corner poking through the gum. Bottom ones haven’t appeared at all yet!

@ToddlerMum2 did the gp say the teething and wind was related? I’ve not actually checked the top ones as I thought the bottom ones came first but will have a look! We had a slightly better night last night, he woke up at 3 but settled in our bed straight away
