Painting a mud kitchen?

DD will be 2 this summer. I have been thinking about a mud kitchen for her main present - something similar to below (but maybe a cheaper version).

Has anyone tried painting one of these? Im hoping if i used like a Cuprinol fence paint it would keep it looking nicer for longer. It comes flatpack so thinking i could paint the bits before i assemble it.

Has anyone tried this and had success?

You can definitely paint it, we painted ours with an ordinary fence paint.

Ours was only a cheep wilko one, but we painted it with fence paint and it looks good. We used the little tester pots they sell for about £1 in two contrasting colours. We also got some rocks that had food painted on off esty, which DD absolutely loves and have held up really well to living in the garden.
