Sertraline and sperm

It’s a conception/pregnancy question but I got no responses there, and really would like to hear from people who have experience/hindsight rather than are TTC at the moment IYSWIM.

I’m interested to hear from people on experiences of male partner taking sertraline - any impact on fertility, and specifically miscarriage, in your view? We have had 2 miscarriages since DH started on it, versus 1 successful pregnancy beforehand. Obviously we’re also both older now too, but seem to have conceived easily still, they’re just not sticking! Thank you.

@Oxalis00 How are you getting on with ttc? My partner is also on Sertraline

My partner is on sertraline. I wouldn’t blame it for miscarriages until you’ve ruled out other causes. I’ve had one miscarriage since he’s been on sertraline (which was nothing to do with sertraline - I have APS and an history of miscarriage due to this, plus was over 40 so progesterone needed a bump) and coming to the end of a successful pregnancy.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! @Littlegoth There's such mixed info about Setraline and sperm.
We're you prescribed progesterone?

Yes my recurrent miscarriage clinic prescribed progesterone and it seems to have done the trick. I’m also on aspirin and fragmin for the APS. I’m sorry you’ve had losses, I know what it’s like trying to find the cause x

Thanks for sharing that thread x@Oxalis00
Sorry to hear that you've had physical complications. I'm sure the loss takes it toll mentally too. How's your other half coping with it? We're cycle 5, buy I took a break from testing this month as it was stressing me out. Feeling much better so will get back to it next month. Sending you lots of baby dust x
