Long Running White Noise Machine

Is there such a thing? My 6 month old is still sleeping in his next to me crib - hes sleeping well but occasionally hes unsettled in the night and i put his Ewan the dream sheep on and he settles and goes back to sleep - he will be going in his own room soon but obviously would be easier of we didnt have to get up and go to his room to put the sheep on - i think i do it sub consciously sometimes so dont really wake up!

Is there a white noise machine that would go all night?

Thanks :)

We use this, has a timer or can just be left on all night. Does the job and very easy to take away with us because it’s tiny! Just don’t have it on too loud.

The Rockit Whoosh - portable, 10 different sounds, adjustable volume and lasts 10 hours, only £25 as well! Best thing I ever bought!

DRS1970 · 28/04/2023 16:22

There are plenty on YouTube that you can run on a tablet or phone.

Reugny · 28/04/2023 16:23

If you all ready have a smart speaker there should be apps on it that play white noise and can be repeated/looped so they play all night.

We have an Alexa and rather than white noise just play classic fm on a very low volume all night.
Someone on here commented on a post previously to say that the white noise apps sometimes stop half way through the night and Alexa speaks and wakes their child up. I'd never risk that in a million years Grin Classic FM has worked wonders

chillih · 28/04/2023 16:29

We love the Hatch machine, we just leave it on all night Smile

My DD likes Classic FM as well and lullabies. The longest lullabies play for about 3 hours though.

The newest Alexa we have doesn't speak and that's the one I use to send my DD to sleep. The older ones do though.

Himawarigirl · 28/04/2023 18:23

We just used a radio set to static at v low volume. That stayed on as long as you needed it.

ForeverTired89 · 28/04/2023 20:21

I’ve used this one since my DD was 4 months old and she’s 3 in 4 days. Even I can’t sleep without it now 😂

My alexa will play fan sounds all night, I can't sleep in silence. It also has other sounds like rain or thunder and white noise etc There are also some you tube channels that play white noise uninterrupted (check comments) for 10 plus hours.

Snowleopardess · 28/04/2023 20:31

We use the Sleep Baby app on a spare / old phone and iPad for baby and 3yr old - It’s free and has loads of different white noises - it’s great

SearchIsTakingTooLong · 28/04/2023 20:34

There's a more expensive version of Ewan the sheep, which is noise activated, so it turns the White Noise back on if there's any crying.

user40643 · 29/04/2023 06:07

Alexa

YouJustDoYou · 29/04/2023 06:34

I use an app. Runs as long as you want. Or youtube has 10hour blackscreen no ads white noise.

Totalwasteofpaper · 29/04/2023 06:40

Dream egg.

You can get it on amazon.

Marpac Hushh Portable White Noise Sound Machine for Baby, 190 g amzn.eu/d/1ZmRowW
Our DD has this one, been using it since about 4m and she is 14m now, no issues. It's portable and rechargeable. It hangs on a hook on the back of her cot.

LectroFan ASM1007-G White Noise Machine and Non-Looping Fan Sounds with Sleep Timer - White amzn.eu/d/ck8gHJj
We have had this one in our room for years, love it but it's not portable or rechargeable.

Copasetic · 29/04/2023 07:06

We use a free standing air conditioning unit. Obviously wasn't bought for that purpose originally but it does help drown out my husband's snoring and I now can't sleep in a silent room!

Haematomato · 29/04/2023 07:41

We use alexa and play a loop through Spotify.

Tiredmummy2014 · 29/04/2023 07:52

We used this and it's been brilliant.

Some baby monitors have white noise that can be turned on. Worth considering if you don't already have one.
