Hi all,
I did this 11 years ago with my eldest but I can't remember a thing about it and I'm now very anxious that my son won't get enough formula while he's weaning. He's 6 months old and started solids about 3 or 4 weeks ago. He's doing really well. Up until now, he's been having 6 bottles a day up to a total of 25-30oz alongside two small amounts of solids a day. He's naturally dropped his last bottle now and won't wake up for it so now he's down to 20-27oz depending on if he leaves any.
He's been showing signs of being hungry between some bottles so we introduced an extra solid in the morning as if I offer him any more formula, he's either sick or doesn't take it. He took really well to this so he's had 3 solid "meals" today alongside his bottles. However, at tea time his last meal was close to his bottle time and I've ended up feeding him quite close together, which I think has led to him being overfed and he's been very refluxy since. It feels like he might need to drop the tea time bottle as all the feeding is getting really close together. If I drop another bottle though, he'll only be having 18-24oz of formula per day. Does this seem like enough alongside his solids? I wanted to ask other's experiences before bothering the HV team.
Thanks in advance.
