Multivitamin mistake!!

Hi,

I’ve just given my 7 month old a shot of ABIDEC multivitamin (heard it’s recommended in hospitals and the NHS website just says all babies over 6 months should have vitamins) but I was an absolute sausage and didn’t realise it’s for babies who have under 500mls of formula a day. My girl is on 620ish MLs a day. I’m not going to give her the drops anymore until she’s older now BUT should I be worried about the vitamin A? She had one dose yesterday and one dose today. I’ve seriously worried myself now 😢

She’ll be absolutely fine.

My DD was prem and I was fiercely instructed by her doctors that she was to have the 0.6 mL dose (for 1 yr plus) from 4 weeks of age, and that this was to continue even when we switched from breast milk to formula, no matter how much formula she had.

Your DD will be absolutely fine, you need a lot more but A than that to do damage!

Actually, come to think of it, it was 1 week of age, not 4!
