i know every councils different but need some friendly advice…
I won a bid for a council house end of January however due to a massive leak I was unable to view it and am still waiting for a viewing to be rearranged I was told I could turn the house down and won’t be penalised but continued to wait. Looked on my council website this morning and I’ve seen a nice house has come out that’s much more suited to me as it’s less then 5 minutes from my mum and close to amenities where as the other house is 30 minutes away and in the middle of nowhere. I have severe mental health issues and am a young single mum so it’d be better if I was close to my mum for support etc rather then isolated hence why this properties ideal. I’m going to call the council tomorrow morning and say I’d like to turn down the property with the leak so I’m able to go back on the system and bid for the more suited house but I’m worried I won’t be able to bid on it in time as the bid closes Wednesday at 1pm and I’ve been told it takes up to 48 hours for it to process on the system that I’ve turned down the property and for me to be able to bid again so if I call tomorrow morning then hopefully I’ll be able to bid by Wednesday morning but worrying it may take till the end of Wednesday and I won’t be able to bid in time. Very stressed right now.
Do you think it’ll genuinely be 48 hours from when I turn down the property or be by the end of the day which would be over the 48 hours? Just need some reassuring. My anxieties playing up right now as you can probably tell 🥲
