Wife and I moved to this country 4 years ago and still trying to understand how things work here. We have a baby boy who is 8 months old now and we wanted to send him to nursery as wife need to find a job now after finishing her studies. We are on 80k family income which should go up once she finds a job. mine may got up hopefully as I progress on career. No mortgage yet but we plan to buy something soon but we don't plan it to be very expensive.
My question is what kind of nursery should we be looking for? We live in west midlands area near city center and those nice nurseries are in the rage of 1,2k/month. We can afford that but I wouldn't want my child to be the "poor baby" in his class. And then once he is ready to go to school, those nurseries charge some more than 10k/year which we could afford for just for one. We would like to have another baby next year probably and +10k/year each may be too much. probably 50% my after tax earnings. Appreciate your thoughts.
