My dc has been invited to a party for a child in her school, I don't do the school run at the same time as the other parents so I've never met the parents and don't know any of the other parents in the class. I'm socially awkward anyway and an introvert so not good at making conversations or small talk but I'm dreading it as they will all know each other already, has anyone else been to a child's party where they don't know anyone and is it as awkward as I'm imagining? This is my first school party despite having 3 older dc they were never invited to any so this is new to me.
