What age for a kids bikini

My daughter is 8 and would love a bikini. She only has swimsuits

I don't really care if she wears a bikini or a swimsuit, but my husband isn't keen on the idea of a bikini

She's 8 years old. I can't really work out if he's being silly or not!

Do you have any strong feelings either way?

Fully lined bikini with a top and matching bottoms. Top with a wide flounce and narrow elastication around the neckline that continues down the V-shaped back. Bottoms with a flounce at the top.

All the little crop top bikinis linked to here are absolutely lovely for little girls. They look very cute and totally appropriate

I don't like revealing clothes and dress modestly myself but have preferred a 2 piece swim suit - full sleeve sun protection for the beach or crop top for swimming lessons on my daughter since she was potty trained - just much easier for her to go to the loo and also change into and out of.
I don't like skimpy bikini tops on pre pubescent girls but don't really see these in the shops - I just bought my 7 year old a crop top and bikini bottom set today
