My baby doesn't wave byebye or do anything really. Doesn't copy me...
Should I be worried?

I expect he or she is a 'less is more' type of person. If you're worried, ask the doctor at your next baby check up but I doubt there is any real concern. I have no doubt your baby will be gesturing very well in the not too distant future.

If you do this 10 months Ages & Stages, how does he score @Helena1993?

Helena1993 · 20/04/2023 20:14

Gross and fine motor skills are good. Just her social skills are bad. She makes sounds like ga-ga and she claps sometimes when I show her. She doesn't say any single words.
She will start daycare soon. Maybe her skills improve there.

My little boy didn't wave or clap at that age either. Did say one single word.

He didn't clap till about 13 months I think (can't remember the date now)

I wouldn't be to worried yet, they all do things at different times. If it's really bothering you, defo speak to your hv

With what you've said I wouldn't worry, this is from a mum who has finally stopped worrying for her 15 month old. He is slowly catching up on the forms but I know he's fine. Only says 2 words, but is babbling and making sounds. Only just really starting to point at things. She'll get there. Has she had her year review?

Helena1993 · 20/04/2023 20:55

She did and I've been told that she she's behind when it comes to gestures. Pointing at things and stuff

My son waved for a short while at 9 months and then completely stopped for a few months until he restarted at 12 months. He pointed at around 13 months. Didn't clap until 15 months. Had his first word at 13 months.

He's 18 months old now and gestures loads, communicates his needs and wants really well and knows all the dance moves to his favourite Ms Rachel songs. He has around 30 words.

Your daughter sounds totally normal to me OP, you'll see big changes over the next few months I'm sure.

Jendrw5 · 21/04/2023 10:06

My son is 11 months too, will be 1 in just over 2 weeks and sounds similar to your little one.

He's doesn't clap but he bangs toys together. He's never come close to pointing. He doesn't really wave, he does a sort of thumbs up instead though. I was a bit worried but figured he's doing other things well, like hes starting to stack his toys now, so he'll probably do it in his own time. He also doesn't say any recognisable words, but he babbles so much in his own little language so I'm not too worried about that either.
