Hello,

My 8wo baby has started falling asleep during feeds after only 1/2oz and also, not waking up for them when she would usually be hungry. I thought she must have been ready to up her tear size so, I did but, she seems to be doing it even more now. Is there some sort of regression at this age that could be making a difference or any other reasons anyone has experienced in similar circumstances as, I am totally confused by this!

Thanks!

My little one went on a bit of a milk strike at about 9/10 weeks.

How was she feeding before? Does she otherwise seem well? How much is she taking over the course of the day?

I would maybe run it past the HV if you can

Have tried going up a teet size? Mine used to get tired from sucking too hard on a small hole and fall asleep. It was usually a sign it was time to move to the next hole size.

Has she recently had her jabs or been unwell at all?

Thanks for the replies.

She usually is 4oz per feed every 3 hours or so. We upped to a size 2 teat from a size 1 and it doesn't seem to have helped as, she is still falling asleep and when she doesn't, despite easily taking the first 1-2oz without choking etc, she is refusing the bottle and spitting it out.

I'll get in touch with the hv. She is otherwise happy and healthy so, maybe it will be a day or so of this and back to normal.

No jabs etc but she has had a cold which we are now at the other side of.
