Only one of top teeth fallen out

DD age 7.5 has lost 4 bottom teeth, and one of her top middle ones. I was under the impression that both the middle ones usually fall out quite closely together, but it has now been many months and the second one isn't even wobbly. Dentist today (during routine check up) wasn't worried at all but mentioned that if it still hasn't fallen out at her next check up they may want to xray to make sure she does have an adult tooth there.

So now I am worrying that she is missing a tooth! Anyone else's child had a large gap between losing their middle teeth?

My daughter's have been very slow to come out, we've had huge gaps between them, she'll be 8 in June and has lost four in total so far. She was the same with teething, didn't get her first tooth until just before her first birthday and it took ages for it to come up properly.

I have 4 children and have never had any of them lose both top teeth at the same time. I feel mildly cheated because it's such a sweet look!

I think often the first larger adult tooth pushes out both the baby teeth at the top which is why kids often end up with a big gap. This hasn't happened for your DC so the second one wont fall out until the second adult tooth starts to move down.

If the dentist isn't worried I wouldn't worry about it. DH is missing his second incisors so had his canines filed down to look like incisors. He has no gaps and looks normal didn't need implants or anything.
