Babyzen yoyo newborn pack needed?

Going on holiday next month and have picked up a second hand yo-yo to take with us. Baby will have just turned 5 months old, is around 50% centile, born at 39 weeks. Do I need to invest in the newborn pack/bassinet? She currently is in the rumble seat of our uppababy but parent facing and in an infant insert within it. It just seems like an expensive purchase for a week, but I don't want to compromise her safety by putting her in the stroller too early.

Try her in the yo yo seat on full recline and see what you think. Go for a walk and see how she is in it. It’s the only way to tell really.

I have a yoyo and My ds was out of the newborn pack by 5 months as he hated lying down flat looking at me/the sky. The second stage pack reclines down and even when it's fully up, it is still tilting backwards. I wouldn't bother buying the newborn pack as your lo will be out of it in a few weeks if you wait for your lo to turn 6 months. Maybe your lo would enjoy ff looking around in the yo-yo? I see a lot of young babies in those umbrella pushchairs on holiday where it's reclined backwards.

Try her in the YoYo with it fully reclined to be sure but I reckon you should be fine and also that there’s very little chance she’ll even fit in the newborn pack because it’s teeny. Mine both moved to the seat at 4.5 months for this reason!

Just make sure the harness is tight and secure holding your baby firm and recline the seat. Maybe just purchase the footrest as a extra but to be honest we only used the footrest for less than a year but it still gave some extension to keep the legs up.

Oh and we never used any sort of infant insert, they were fine in just the seat, and that would disrupt the fold.

Try it without and see.

I think my DS refused to go in the newborn pack from about 4 months, but didn't like the pushchair because he couldn't see me, which was a bit of a pain.
