Smaller, I did not like being part of a big family, I was the eldest and a girl.

Changingmynameyetagain · 10/04/2023 01:40

Bigger, I’m one of two and I have 3dc.
My sister only has 1 though so I guess I’ve got one of hers so it evens out!

OhMyCherriePie · 10/04/2023 01:40

Smaller, my mum had 6 kids

Unfortunately the same. I was an only that swore I would never have an only. Life being what it is , here we are.

disneydatknee · 10/04/2023 01:41

Smaller. My parents struggled to afford 4 kids and we manage just fine with 2.

MuseumGardens · 10/04/2023 01:42

Same - 2 kids

greenspaces4peace · 10/04/2023 01:42

I was almost an only child, my sibling is 11+ yrs younger and I left home for college at 16.
I have 3 children, my dh came from a family with three.

Rainpuddle · 10/04/2023 01:46

Smaller, I am one of 5 dc. I plan to stop at 2.

Being in a big family was good because I could get 'lost among my siblings', wasn't any helicopter parenting and I didn't get too much attention which I enjoyed. Also I think I have good people skills because I had to manage different personalities. We also weren't directly compared as there were too many of us, unlike the head to head you sometimes see with 2 children.

Cons were that I was 2nd youngest and hated being an older sibling. It felt regimented at times and I had too much responsibility for my siblings. It also felt chaotic too.

Laserbird16 · 10/04/2023 01:52

A bit smaller. I'm the youngest of three but have two. It suits me very well

caringcarer · 10/04/2023 01:55

Smaller. I am one of 5 girls. I went on to have 1 DD and 2 DS' but I have a Foster Son too.

JacobsCrackersCheeseFogg · 10/04/2023 01:57

Smaller. I have one child. I have a sibling.

TwistofFate · 10/04/2023 02:29

Bigger, I was an only and have two.

LighterNights · 10/04/2023 02:54

Same, but I hate a stepdd, so bigger too, lol

Georgiepud · 10/04/2023 02:57

Bigger. I was an only and didn't enjoy it.

RosesAndHellebores · 10/04/2023 02:59

Bigger as I am an only child and hated it.
DH smaller as he is one of three.

We have 2 but wanted 3 or 4. It didn't work out.

Libmama · 10/04/2023 03:00

Same. I was one of three and I have three.

WispaBite · 10/04/2023 03:03

Smaller. I am middle of three. I have two children.

GingerbreadBaking · 10/04/2023 03:08

The same.

Out of interest why did people not enjoy being an only child?

Minierme · 10/04/2023 03:08

Smaller

JaffaCake70 · 10/04/2023 03:14

Smaller.

I'm one of three but I only had 2 of my own.

I'd have liked more children but life (broken relationships etc) didn't turn out that way.

I think if I'd met my Husband when I was in my 20s we'd probably have had 3 or 4 children, but as it is we met when I was 50 and the baby making ship had sadly long since sailed!

handsoffate · 10/04/2023 03:15

Bigger. I hated being an only child, and would still now have preferred siblings. Seeing mine interact daily just emphasises this.

handsoffate · 10/04/2023 03:16

Conversely dh loved it though.

Abraxan · 10/04/2023 03:23

Smaller

I was the eldest of 3.
Dd is an only child.

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2023 03:24

Bigger for me, smaller for DH. I'm one of two, he's from a family of four. We have three. I'd have loved four, he wanted to stick at two so we compromised on three, which is lovely. In truth, four would've broken me!

WhisperingAutistic · 10/04/2023 03:25

Same
3 children
