The same. I'm one of 5, I have 5

Dh is one of two though so he went bigger

JimnJoyce · 10/04/2023 03:32

Smaller, I'm one of 3 but have an only

DappledThings · 10/04/2023 08:39

Same. I am one of two and have two. Smaller for DH. He is youngest of three and they had planned 4 but he was such hard work as a baby they stopped!

Bigger , I'm one of two and I have 3 children.

plugin12 · 10/04/2023 08:42

Smaller for OH though, he is 1 of 4 siblings

AnonymousArabella · 10/04/2023 08:42

Same for me (in fact pretty identical, same sex children with the same age gap).

Smaller for DH. I might have gone again but he was the one who was really adamant our current family is the right size for us.

Overthebow · 10/04/2023 08:42

Hopefully bigger. I’m an only child and I really don’t want my DC to be an only. Currently pregnant with my second so hoping this works out.

Dragonsandcats · 10/04/2023 08:43

Same for me, and for DH
2 DC, perfect size for us

CheeseMcKnees · 10/04/2023 08:43

Same for me, small for DH.

Justcashnosweets · 10/04/2023 08:45

Smaller. I'm one of 3 children, I only have 1 child.

MyFaceIsAnAONB · 10/04/2023 08:46

Bigger 🙌🏻 we’re both one of 2 and we have 3 kids.

We’re both the younger sibling to very clever prodigious older siblings and both of us aren’t close to our siblings sadly so maybe there’s something in that. We really hope for a nice big bustling happy family once the kids are grown up.

Bigger, I was the middle of 3 and I have 4, I do have a similar family dynamic though, my sister and I are close in age (18months apart) and my brother is 15 years younger. My children are 17 months apart then a 13 year gap before having 2 more at 20 months apart.

It worked well for me as a child/teenager and it seems to be working well with my family too

heatdeath · 10/04/2023 08:47

Bigger. I have four children but am one of three siblings. My sister doesn’t have children & my brother has three. Both our parents are from families of three siblings.

Dh is effectively one of two as he has no relationship with his father’s (much older) children from his first marriage.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 10/04/2023 08:47

My sisters and I all have smaller families. We were one of 3. Over got 2. Dsis1 has am only child and sis3 has none at age 44.

Dh... also one of 3. One brother had 2. Another had 4.

Teddybear120 · 10/04/2023 08:48

Smaller- I had one sibling, DH had 2 siblings. We have an only child. We would of loved a second but have secondary infertility. The future may still bring us more children but it is looking increasingly unlikely and the time is approaching where we won’t keep trying.

YellowGreenBlue · 10/04/2023 08:48

Bigger

DiscoBeat · 10/04/2023 08:49

Smaller - except there are grown up stepchildren so from that point of view - the same size.

Wailywailywaily · 10/04/2023 08:50

Smaller but then I am one of 13 (blended family) and there was no way I’d ever have more than 2!

Climbingthelaundrymountain · 10/04/2023 08:50

Bigger. I have one brother. I have 3dcs.

Dontknowwhyidoit · 10/04/2023 08:51

Bigger, I am an only child who was brought up by a single parent mother. I am married and have five children. I grew up alone most of the time as my mum worked all hours and I think I have created the family I wished I had

AllAboutMargot · 10/04/2023 08:51

Smaller - I'm the eldest of three - two girls and a boy.
DH is also the eldest of three - two boys and a girl.
I have one boy, DH has two boys.
I never wanted children but DS came along.

drpet49 · 10/04/2023 08:52

Bigger

shivawn · 10/04/2023 08:53

Smaller. My parents had 3 and we're just having 2 (8 weeks pregnant with #2 so hopefully it won't turn out to be twins). I like the idea of more but it's just too much work.

StagsLeap · 10/04/2023 08:53

Much, much small. I’m the eldest of five, and have an only child by choice.

Tayegete · 10/04/2023 08:55

Smaller - I was the much younger ‘surprise’ sibling of 3. Although having older siblings was cool in some ways I felt like an only child in a lot of ways and to parents who’d had their planned first family and were now older and wanting to do less. We have 2 and took steps to ensure there would be no surprises further down the line. DH is one of 2 but they are close in age and the same sex and don’t really get on as they have very different personalities. Ours have a bigger gap are different sexes.
