twins aged 2 and 10 months really resisting potty training tried absolutely everything! One says she is frightened although never done anything but encourage her the other is sitting and asking but won't let go of the pee!!
Is it me or are they still not ready! Live in a culture that expects potty training over by 2!! What a pressure!!!! Advise me please

they don't sounds ready to me. It will suddenly come overnight and they will be ready. It is a nightmare training twins. I've jsut got there with one of mine (2.11), but the other is still clueless. Best off waiting.

give up and wait a few months - they are pretty young still.

(I do have twins by the way - so I know how much fun it is dealing with 2 at the same time !)

I tried a couple of times with mine, but I decided dt1 was ready once he could go a few hours without accidents and knew when he needed a wee.

thanks for that so far and as you have twins help!!! Its hard but I feel they still are not ready completely its everyone else that pressure is from and always asking 'are they still in pampers'...I look after them alone and its even harder as i think i am doing something wrong by not pressuring the girls out of nappies!!!

i concentrated on the one that was most ready- then the other one copied and learnt from him, but they have to be ready for it to work- you can't force the issue with a toddler!!!!!

throckenholt · 14/02/2008 13:14

the point is pressuring them won't help.

So just ignore the others and get on with living your life. They will do it when they are ready.

I bet the others don't have twins. Throckenholt is right, and keep reminding yourself you have TWO you are entitled to take it easy where you can!!
