Hi, my little one is 18 months and has this rash…. Noticed it when getting her changed for bath tonight. Anyone seen anything similar etc?

My skin used to look like that when I'd had a hot water bottle on me. I'd call 111 though, to be in the safe side . Any other symptoms? Temp ? No wet nappies?

It could be because the baby has been cold too.

I thought hot water bottle too, but agree call 111.

How is she otherwise?

Hmm it’s weird. She’s been fine in herself, like playing outside etc. has a cough/runny nose but nothing I would have thought out the ordinary.

could it be caused by the sun, she was wearing black tights? I dunno.

ive put her to bed, as she went down about 30 mins after the post. I didn’t check it until after afterwards and dont want to disturb her sleep. she’s asleep like but I’m sat here worrying …… if it’s still there when we wake up I’ll take her to local A&E

Google livedo reticularis , although I will follow this by saying, seek proper medical advice.

Qwerty93 · 08/04/2023 01:04

I’ve googled everything else!

but yeah, she just woke now, it I just moved her into my bed to keep an eye on her and she’s gone back to sleep. She’s got her sleeping bag and pj’s on so too layered up to check.

but if it’s still there in the morning that would be cause for concern right?

If it's still there, then yes , I would get it looked at just to be on the safe side x

I get this when sitting in the sun with dark leggings/tights or using a hot water bottle. I think it's called tartan blanket syndrome/roster skin syndrome and mine goes away after a while. I'd monitor and see how it is in the morning.

I'd also point out that it doesn't feel sore/different when I have it, I usually only notice when I pop to the loo or get changed.

Whattt44 · 08/04/2023 02:17

I also get it with extreme temperatures and if I've been cold, my leg's itch when they warm up.

Ah brill. Thanks for this advice!
it probably was the sun…. She is a fair little thing!

it’s all gone this morning, thank god!
