At what age did you allow older siblings to babysit? (For the evening not overnight though) I know it will be different for everyone just asking out of interest

I have DD1, who is 4 years older than DS,DD2 is two years younger than him.
They are all pretty sensible. I first left DD1 'babysitting' when she was 15. I went out to eat in a local restaurant to begin with, less than 3 miles away. However, during the day I would happily pop out and leave them, with her less formally in charge, for an hour or so from 14.
When DD1 went off to Uni at 18, the younger two, then 14 and 12, were to young to be left but felt to old to let me pay for a babysitter (we have no local family) so it was a bit of a quandary. I had to be creative with sleepovers.
I think individual family dynamics will determine the age you feel happy.

I had one sibling, a much older sibling. One of my favourite memories of him is being a primary aged child (aged8 or9) and watching Old Grey WhistleTest with him and his mates.
