Exhausting fussy baby

My baby is now 9 weeks, he is just so fussy and unsettled. Every time I go for a wee or load the dishwasher etc I have to rush whilst he screams, he just wants to constantly be held. It's getting a little overwhelming and my nerves feel frazzled, its just impossible to do anything! My first was never like this so I'm not sure what to do, he loved a cuddle but would let me put him down here and there! My eldest also slept like a dream in his next to me but my little one now will only sleep with me so I'm reluctantly having to co-sleep. He cries a lot and doesn't seem overly happy to of been born! Blush I'm not sure there's much advice people can offer if he is just like this?

I really feel for you, the adjustment to having more than one child is hard enough.
Do they like been carried in a sling or carrier? I never used one with my 1st (even though she was a nightmare and looking back I wish I did) but was a godsend with my 2nd and 3rd. I know it definitely doesn't help not but it will get easier, I found around this time the hardest they have woken up from the newborn sleep and not old enough to be entertained by anything x

Hi - I also have a 9 week old and have had this for weeks. It started with an evening episode of inconsolable crying which then snowballed into crying after every feed and nothing could be done to make her stop. She hated being put down and I had to rush everything if I ever managed as it was a struggle to even feed myself or get a drink.

Our DS was a dream baby so we knew something wasn’t okay with DD.

We looked at possibly colic but Infacol didn’t work and now we’re trialling different things for reflux and CMPA. I’m not saying this will be the case for you but worth looking into and speaking with your HV as that’s who’s guiding us. Hope you get some respite soon, it’s absolutely brutal!

@drapingivy I've just come across this post as I have a baby that sounds exactly the same and am searching for some
Solidarity/ help! He is 4m old and extremely fussy, cries a lot, needs constant stimulation and to be held up. I'm exhausted, cant do anything and can't help feeling slightly resentful when comparing to my friends' chilled babies.. and anxious about the future.

I just wondered how you have got on, how is your baby now? I'd be so grateful to hear! Thanks
