3 year old waking up repeatedly and screaming multiple times a night

my three year old got sick with a chest infection last month and ever since has been repeatedly waking in the night. She has always been an amazing sleeper all through the night. But recently been waking up 3x a night probably a lot more than that.
My partner and i are so sleep deprived and its SO out of character. She screams, hits and throws things. She doesn't want me(mum) to go in to soothe her, only her dad otherwise it makes her so much worse. Which in turn makes him so so tired for work the next day.
I don't believe its night terrors purely because shes aware of whos coming in the room and actively refuses me again and again.
Any advice? Thanks!

Hi did you find a solution? I am having something similar with my nearly three year old.

Does she have a night light? We got the Tommee Tippee penguin one (recommended here) and my DC have slept brilliantly since

One of mine went through a similar stage. It was horrendous. One morning he asked for pancakes for breakfast and I told him, honestly, that I was too tired to make them. He’d have to sleep all night in his own bed if he wanted pancakes.
I wasn’t trying to bribe him - I just was too shattered to filter what came out my mouth. Felt guilty for saying it.

He slept through the next night. And the next. And every night after. Hmm

Have you tried just letting her be and seeing if she re-settles herself?
